Pencil drawings on the paper for architectural sketches from the Soviet period.
«The drawings from this series talk about the pain during the dark nights with the latent fears, the fears of attempting to love myself, to meet myself. This is about the main question — «Who am I?», «How to be a woman?», «Do I need to agree that I am a human, who identifies as a female?» This is about acceptance of «own» body, the changes and mutations of it in a contemporary society», — explains Maria Kulikovska.
«During Dark Nights» was created by Maria Kulikovska in the winter of 2016-2017. This was the time when the artist met her future accomplice, muse and partner Oleh Vinnichenko. Also, this was the time when Kulikovska was ending the relationship with the artist of the marriage-as-performance «Body and Borders».
