Saga

The video is dedicated to the anticipation of the birth of the artist’s daughter, Eva, whom Kulikovska and Vinnichenko initially wanted to name Saga.

It was filmed in the summer of 2021 in Kyiv, a time when pandemic restrictions were lifted, allowing hope, raves, and music to flourish in the city. Director Daria Biliak captured this moment of expectation and love between partners Maria Kulikovska and Oleh Vinnichenko. At times, their anticipation resonated with the overall uplifted spirit of the Ukrainian capital, despite the pandemic and the ongoing war in eastern Ukraine. Other moments are filled with an anxious premonition of catastrophe and an attempt to embrace the looming threat of separation.

The music for the video was composed by Ukrainian musician Alexey Shmurak, known for his avant-garde musical practice and artistic collaborations.
