PROJECT DETAILS

Photo documentation of making the sculpture with shell casings from eastern Ukraine and flowers from the border of temporarily occupied Crimea. Just 12 hours before the beginning of bombings all over Ukrainian cities, the figure was opened at Garage 33 Gallery-Shelter in the evening of February 23, 2022.

Story

Under the skin of the sculpture are flowers collected on the border with Crimea occupied by the russian federation*, as well as shell casings from the east of Ukraine. She is installed, looking towards the horizon – waiting to return home.

* Following Ukrainian social activism and then Ukrainian legislation, following the commencement of the war, Kulikovska and Vinnichenko chose to use lowercase lettering when describing the actions of putin’s russian federation.
